The Antonym of “An Overnight Success”

Danielle has been singing for the entirety of her life, songwriting since eight years old, and producing since 13. She is a dedicated and experienced musician with an impressive, global, musical resume. Carr began her music career officially at 17 years old by releasing an original EP “KAHLO” on Soundcloud in 2016 after many years of posting covers on Youtube. After moving to New York from finishing school in Belgium later that year, she released her first album “Showers in May” as a freshman in college. “Perfect Woman” and “Melanin Euphoria” (singles from Showers in May) opened doors for her on her campus, and allowed her to perform in showcases locally. In 2017, the emotionally naked record, “Icarus” was released and changed the pace of her career forever.

Icarus, Danielle’s first popular single, grossed over 10,000 streams within the first week of release with no major budget promotion, management, or a label. This began to bring forth new performance opportunities for Danielle outside of campus. From 2017 to the end of 2019, she began touring independently throughout the East Coast and Midwest, booking her own shows, and even selling out her own concerts. Carr, booming with success, continued to make music despite her being a full time college student, as well as a full time musician. In late 2017, Danielle released her debut album: “804.” Her single, “$3.60,” was the star track off the record, being played on radio stations, social media campaigns, and being the most streamed song on the album in records. In the Summer of 2018, Danielle released a 7 track EP titled, “Pablo.”

After a much needed 8 month break, Danielle released her second studio album: Wakeful Rest. After touring, radio, music videos, and collaborations Carr needed true rest. She regathered herself and her work for two years, finally releasing her latest album “The Grey,” in 2021. Singles “Analog,” and “Vanity,” were fan favorite tracks from the album, contributing to the over 30,000 streams within the first month of release. In 2022, Danielle released four singles and music videos, “CPR,” “Welp!”, “Take Me Home” and “Solo.” The releases were an independent success, receiving 10,000-17,000 streams within its first week of release. Danielle was able to debut “Solo” as her first television performance with Bronx Net Television as result of the buzz. Carr took advantage of this momentum by releasing two singles and music videos the following year, “Egress” and “Black Girls’ Anthem (B.G.A.)” The singles were both a success, resulting in the music videos being the most viewed videos on her channel, most streamed singles across all platforms, as well as an official ambassadorship with Peerspace. Danielle Carr wants her supporters to know that she is truly grateful for every single one of them. Carr exclaims, “I’m very blessed to do what I am able to do. To be an underground artist, [to] take a break for two years, and still be able to release music with no engine behind me, and, on top of that, to have such great feedback is…indescribable.”
